Buena Fine Arts Productions is an extra curricular component of the Fine Arts at Buena High School.  Buena Fine Arts Productions focuses on the performing arts and is committed to creating opportunities for students to be a part of live productions.  The organization draws students interested in the Performing Arts at Buena High School.  Band, choir and theatre students are involved in the productions.  However, all productions are open to participation by any interested member of the student body. Students work on all levels of the productions and cultivate a strong sense of ownership for the shows and the Program.  Buena Fine Arts Productions produces no less than five shows each year.  The funding for all projects is generated solely by ticket sales and student works.

Sponsored by the Educational Theatre Association, the International Thespian Society has been honoring the excellent work of theatre students since 1929 and Buena’s Troupe #2903  began active membership in 1978.  The International Thespian Society is an Honor Society that recognizes excellence among students of the theatre and promotes the arts as a tool for life long learning.  Troupe #2903 is a student led organization and members strive to spread their love of theatre and work to promote theatre & the arts in the community.

All Thespian meetings and events are open, so anyone is welcome to attend and see what we do. We accept applications every fall and spring.

Buena CTE offers a hands-on, industry training program in production technology.

Critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity are vital and sought after in the 21st century workplace and are at the heart of study in the Production Arts.

Tech Theatre students at Buena High School are learning the ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve ‘real world’ production complications on state of the art equipment through hands on application and direct instruction.

Production Tech capitalizes on its Fine Arts connections and roots to create a space where tech meets art. This corresponding student organization provides students opportunities in service learning, and competitions.

United States Institute for Theatre Technology is an association of design, production and technology professionals in the entertainment industry.

The Klein Center is an organizational member.  However, Buena Theatre is looking for a few motivated technicians to make a USITT chapter at BHS a reality.  See Mrs. Duerk if you are interested in helping us out.
